Hello world!

Hello I am David Stevenson.

I started taking photos when I was 9 years old with my family’s Kodak camera. Kodak stopped making that film format, so for my tenth birthday I received a new Instamatic 135. This had the drop in cartridge with the film in it with no setting the shutter speed, aperture or ASA on the Film. I had the privilege of being with many skilled photographers to teach me what they had learned.

In 1976 I purchase my first SLR camera it was an Olympus OM 2. It was at this time my skills started to grow. Today I have a Canon 40D, I know that there are newer ones out but I like to work and learn with the cameras I have before upgrading.

I have been scanning many of my photos from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s with a CanoScan8800F. This is long process of scanning, viewing and deciding what is worth keeping. I do have some black and white of steam locomotives in the 1930’s and 40’s. This was taken by a man named David Martindell. I only have six of his negative which I purchased from his widow through one of my contacts; I only wish I had bought more.

In the days and weeks to come I will add more photos from my collection.

Now Let’s get Started
